Nordic Fos manufactures underfloor heating panels in a wide range of dimensions at its production facility in Dragør, Denmark. Due to increasing market demand for this highly versatile product, Graphic Robotics has successfully delivered two complete production lines to support the customer’s growing production capacity.

The production lines have been designed to handle the full range of panel variants with minimal machine reconfiguration when switching between product types. This provides a highly flexible and efficient manufacturing process while maintaining consistent product quality and production throughput.

Each production line manages the entire manufacturing process, from the arrival of raw panel stacks on transport pallets to finished products ready for packaging and shipment.

The automated process includes internal material handling between all production stages, application of tape to the rear side of the panels for both branding and structural reinforcement, precision milling of straight channels and curved sections for water pipe installation, and application of a flexible aluminum sheet to the panel surface.

A specially developed pressing process ensures that the aluminum sheet is accurately formed into every milled channel. This creates optimal contact between the panel and the heat-conducting layer, allowing heat to be distributed efficiently upward through the flooring system. The result is a high-quality underfloor heating solution with excellent thermal performance.

In addition, the production line performs final cutting and folding operations before automatically stacking the finished panels into bundles of ten. The bundles are then ready for immediate packaging, storage, and shipment to customers.

By combining advanced automation, flexible product handling, and high production efficiency, the solution enables Nordic Fos to meet increasing demand while maintaining the high quality standards expected from its products – all from their production facility in Denmark
